Feb - 1 story every day

Image
So the goal for February was: Write 1 story every day. Which I did. For about 19 days. Then I took my best story to my friend Sam- who publishes his own Zine... He marked it up, and gave me feedback like, "this part really worked for me"  and "i'm confused as to why he is back in the kitchen making another sandwich, I thought he already made the sandwich?!" This encounter made me stop writing every day. The wind was taken out of my creative sails.... I thought that I had written 19 masterpieces, and it turns my "best" story was pretty confusing...... "whats the timeline with this sandwich!?" So I pumped the brakes and only wrote a total of 22 stories in February... I'll end up writing 28 eventually, but I'll probably only share a few of them.... because honestly they're all not masterpieces!!!!! Here is a link to the first one that I'll share "Poor Peppy":  http://everydaycountslikecrazy....

February - Write a joke every day

Image
My goal for February was going to be write a joke every day, and it's already February 4th, so i tried coming up with 4 jokes to start things off ..... This is how that went: -looks around the room, "What's the deal with curtains..."   nothing.... "Cupholders are like little bowls of????"  .... "What's up with computers, they are so powerful and everywhere!" hilarious. Quickly realized that jokes hit me as I walk around my everyday life, and they don't just come when I call them...   New February Goal! write one story every day. This seems more doable.    I've got 28 stories to write, and I'm 4 stories behind... Let's hope my stories are as interesting as my jokes are funny! Every. Day. Counts. Like. Crazy.

January - Physical Exercise

Image
Every single day in January, I did physical exercise. I realize this is the most generic New Years resolution. But it's still challenging. Some days, I would be brushing my teeth and realize, "I have done nothing but sit in a chair, and in my car all day!"  and I would do 20 sit ups before getting into bed. No great takeaways other than: Exercise makes me: -physically stronger -mentally clearer -spiritually (more) receptive -emotionally (more) balanced January Goal: Exercise Every Day :::::: accomplished

Intro

For every month of 2019, I will be setting goals. Some are boring like "exercise every day" and some are more interesting like "write a joke every day". The point is to do something  every day for a month.  Too many months go by and I say, "I don't remember a single thing I did in October"... Not this year! I will have friends joining me for some months, and I will be blogging, recording, and documenting it all along the way. This is about self-motivation. I'm using this platform to motivate my self to do things I've always thought would be cool to do, but have never done. If this inspires anyone else to DO SOMETHING, awesome...  At the very least I'll be inspiring myself, and that's the point. Public Journaling. This is my first blog. If you are reading this, feel free to say hello in some way. Here's to a new year, 2019.
